A second company, not a side project
BuildsByBuchanan builds custom software for other businesses — web applications, PMO systems, admin dashboards, business websites. Appxcel is a different, separate company: it builds and owns its own consumer products. Sivario Buchanan founded it, and holds both the CEO and CTO roles — he sets the product direction and writes the code that ships it.
What Appxcel actually builds
Appxcel's scope is mobile apps, games, and the software in between — not a single product category. Its first shipped release is Monthlys, a faster, more private period and ovulation tracker with adaptive predictions and an AI assistant that works from a user's own logged data. Monthlys is proof of the studio's approach — one product, built carefully and shipped honestly — rather than the limit of what Appxcel is for. More apps and games are in active development.
The Appxcel Store — distribution Appxcel controls itself
Rather than depending entirely on Google Play or Apple's App Store, Appxcel runs its own distribution channel: the Appxcel Store. Android users download a signed APK directly, scanned against VirusTotal before it's listed; iPhone and iPad users add the same app to their home screen as an installed PWA. Because every app is either a TWA (Trusted Web Activity) wrapping a live web app, or a Capacitor build syncing the same web assets, pushing an update to the underlying site updates everyone's installed app immediately — no store review cycle required for ordinary content changes.
Built in partnership with BuildsByBuchanan
The two companies are separate, but they're not disconnected. Appxcel's own marketing site is engineered in partnership with BuildsByBuchanan and written in Kittine — the programming language BuildsByBuchanan created in-house, compiling to real Leptos/Rust and running as WebAssembly. It's a working example of how Sivario Buchanan's companies reinforce each other: a language built at BuildsByBuchanan powers a site at Appxcel, and lessons learned shipping Appxcel's consumer apps feed back into how BuildsByBuchanan advises clients on mobile strategy.
Why this matters if you're a BuildsByBuchanan client
It's a proof point, not a pitch: the same person architecting your web application or PMO system also owns and operates a live consumer software company end to end — product, engineering, and distribution. When a project calls for a mobile app or a game-like interactive build, that's direct, current experience, not theory.
