Why start with a period and ovulation tracker
Appxcel — the mobile apps, games, and software studio Sivario Buchanan founded separately from BuildsByBuchanan — needed a first product that proved the studio's whole approach: one app, built carefully, shipped honestly, with real utility for the person using it every day. A cycle tracker fit that brief. It's used constantly, it's deeply personal, and most of the existing options are cluttered with ads or upsells around data that people would rather keep private. Monthlys was built to fix that — a combined period and ovulation tracker with adaptive predictions and an AI assistant, distributed through Appxcel's own store rather than a crowded app-store category page.
Adaptive predictions, not fixed 28-day math
Most basic trackers assume a textbook 28-day cycle and quietly get less accurate the moment a real cycle doesn't match it. Monthlys logs a user's actual cycle history and adapts its predictions to it — period windows and fertile/ovulation windows that get more accurate the longer someone uses the app, rather than staying pinned to a generic average.
An AI assistant that works from your own data
Monthlys includes an AI assistant that answers questions grounded in a user's own logged history — symptoms, cycle length, patterns over time — instead of giving the same generic advice to everyone. It's there to help someone understand their own data, not to replace medical advice.
Built as a Capacitor app, distributed through the Appxcel Store
Monthlys ships as a Capacitor app for Android (package com.appxcel.monthlys), with its web assets bundled into the APK at build time, plus an iOS install as a home-screen PWA. Both are distributed through the Appxcel Store — Appxcel's own distribution channel — with the Android build scanned against VirusTotal before it's ever listed, and a real in-app update check so users know when a new version is ready.
Part of a bigger studio, not a one-off app
Monthlys is proof of Appxcel's approach — not the limit of what the studio is for. It's the first release from a studio built to design, ship, and distribute mobile apps, games, and software under one roof, run by Sivario Buchanan as founder, CEO, and CTO.
